El Thotalagala, enclavado en Haputale, en la finca Pitaratmalie, es un antiguo bungalow restaurado de plantadores que cuenta con 7 suites, cada una de ellas con el nombre de una personalidad prominente que dio forma a la historia de la provincia de Uva. El Thotalagala cuenta con punto de restauración, jardín, bar y WiFi gratuita en todas las instalaciones. "Our room (Duncan) was lovely, but very expensive even for the time of year (Christmas). It wasn't particularly big and unfortunately was located near the bar/dining area so quite noisy late at night and early morning. Also not much privacy if you wanted to open the curtains."
"It was such a treat staying at Thotalagala on an all inclusive basis for 2 nights during our 2 week trip around Sri Lanka. The bungalow is so calm, impeccably decorated and equipped with a great team. We had mixed weather (October) but still did a lot - sun rise viewpoint (Lipton Seat), a tea factory tour, walked through the tea plantations. And when at the bungalow we loved swimming in the pool, admiring the views, playing scrabble and sampling the amazing and daily changing food menu. Kanth took the greatest care of us and we also enjoyed our walks with Madhu. One of my favourite things was the hot water bottle that is placed in your bed while you're eating dinner - heaven."

"Wonderful hotel with exceptional service. Manjula was superb and looked after our every need, all the staff were friendly and delivered excellent service. The view from the hotel is exquisite, and there is a wonderful feeling of calm and peacefulness. The food and drink are of a very high standard with wonderful cocktails. The turn down service with the hot water bottles is a lovely touch. We were enchanted with the local birdlife and entertained by a small group of monkeys outside of our room. A wonderful stay at a very special hotel and we would highly recommend."

"Estuvimos 2 días y nos encantó, nos ayudaron a hacer el safari, visita a la playa, paseo de tarde muy bonito....es un alojamiento básico para los que les guste salirse de los sitios turísticos, encontrarás ranitas en la habitación y baño nosotros no nos importó. Se ven iguanas por allí Cogimos una habitación para los 4 y bien."

"We had such a good, memorable time here. Taken very well care of by Manju (the owner), we enjoyed a very comfortable stay in the wild, off the beaten track, with beautiful nature all around us. The food was delicious and filling, vegetarian and vegan diets catered for completely. They lit us a fire one night and we enjoyed dinners by candlelight every night. The beds were super comfy and the large hut that we stayed in was very spacious - good for all bags and clothes. Manju organised our safari day and our trip to a local beach. He was ready to meet our every need and was very kind and friendly with our children too."
