Hostel Orange

"Es un engaño. Total y absoluto. Me han cobrado 200 euros por dos noches y después ves que las tienen a 38 euros por noche. El colchón es terrible. La cama es horrible. La habitación es lamentable. Jamás he gestado en un lugar tan cutre como este. El trato, lamentable. Me quisieron cobrar por una toalla extra cuando nos habían dado una para dos personas. No doy crédito."

"Estuve tres noches en un dormitorio de 12 camas y no limpiaron, ni siquiera el baño. Lo comenté en recepción por la tarde y al día siguiente solo vaciaron las papeleras. Ni siquiera repusieron papel higiénico, menos mal que los sábados si hay alguien en recepción todo el tiempo y buscó más papel. No tiene enchufe cerca de la cama ni luz de lectura. Una cosa curiosa es que en la zona común, que no tiene ventanas, la luz va con temporizador así que solo se enciende a partir de una hora. El sábado que me pilló allí temprano estaba lluvioso y oscuro y no se veía bien, pero ni las personas de recepción podían encender las luces. El "colchón" tendrá unos 6 cm y apoya sobre una lamina y barras de madera, así que te las clavas. Deberían poner un colchón de verdad o, al menos, una tabla."

"It's very clean, cosy, warm (winter) and peaceful, even though the kitchen is a bit small, it's fully equipped. The dorm room is very spacious and with a bathroom attached."

"The thick dust, old crisp packets under the bed. Couldn't tell you when it was last cleaned. The mattress is shocking and worst of all a regular guest of this hostel assaulted me. My stay was that bad I went to another hostel that's run by the same company. It was very clean but the mattress was even worse and my back was killing in the morning. I've travelled to 56 countries and this was my worst experience ever. The day I was leaving 5 ladies arrived to check in but there was a problem and the ladies had to go elsewhere. It just seemed like problem after problem. This hostel could be amazing so it's a big shame. I highly recommend staying away from the orange hostels in Toruń."

"Only plus is the location situated right in the historic center of Torun and that it'svery cheap. You can park around the corner, but beware not to get scammed. We usually enjoy staying in mixed dorms because it allows to meet and socialize with people from around the world, very disappointing to have had such a negative experience."

"- The girl at reception didnt care about anything, we just got a key and barely got directed to our room. We had to figure out which beds were appointed to us and had no idea how to enter the locked front door later that night. - The dorm was supposed to be mixed, but it seemed as if it was some sort of homeless shelter with only middle aged men snoring loudly making it already challenging to catch some sleep. - Alcohol was not allowed in the rooms but nobody seemed to check on this. A guy entered the room with several 0,5 Ltr cans of beer which he finished in no time before crashing to sleep, he was constantly screaming and kicking violently around him throughout the night. - There was no toilet paper in the bathroom and nobody to ask to replenish it since the staff left at 8pm - The little time we spend on the beds was not great either, very thin, uncomfortable matrasses, happy that we brought our own pillows - My wife was the only female attempting to sleep there, but she was obviously very uncomfortable and felt absolutely unsafe. We decided to leave in the middle of the night and stayed in our car for the remainder of it. Next morning we checked out immediately and stayed elsewhere for the remaining 2 nights."
