"This hotel got everything we needed! Perfect breakfast, nice room with hot shower and a big moscito net around the beds, wonderful green garden with a nice pool and two cute turtles, very peaceful place even though located so central, helpful and friendly staff, and clean and tidy. A safe stay."

If we had to give some feedback for improvement it would be: The rooms towards the ocean and the garden are quite noisy because of the street in front of the property, I would rather book rooms into the other direction. The lights setup in the two rooms we had could be improved. One room was very bright while the other was quite dark. In the mornings the rooms became very bright because of the absence of blackout curtains."

"This guesthouse is delightful in a very convenient location. The staff were extremely helpful, suggesting places to eat and visit, booking taxis for us and accommodating very early breakfast to fit our daytrips. They were also very flexible and moved our reservation to the next day when our flight from Vilanculos was cancelled. The location is excellent to visit the Polana Cimento area of town. Some taxi drivers needed extra instructions to find it, but it was enough to say that it was near the Igreja Polana and it generally worked out. Also, do not expect a long drive from the airport, 20 minutes and you are there."

"Good security and off street parking. Efficient reception. Staff arranged and paid for my Taxi as I did not have local currency and charged this to my bill. Very friendly and gracious owner. Nice garden and pool area for complete relaxation. Breakfast was good enough. Room and bathroom are spacious enough although dated finishes and equipment. I appreciated the comprehensive mosquito netting around bed posters and the refrigerator and enough bottled water supplied free of charge. I will most definitely stay over again."

"No name board on front gate/ fence. So we drove past in the first instance Neighborhood could be quite noisy from time to time with vehicle noise and dogs barking."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the FigTree… it’s home away from home! The staff are incredible, the breakfast is delicious and the rooms and space are so beautifully done and comfortable. We have also visited and stayed here for work, and I cannot recommend staying here highly enough if you want a warm, friendly and comfortable stay in Maputo. (And the views of the sea are lovely and so is the swimming pool and garden!!)"

"The staff is exceptional especially Pedro and Luis at the reception. Very helpful, always available even at night. The house is super clean, with a nice decoration and beautiful garden in the heart of one of the most exclusive neighbours in Maputo. As I was travelling with my daughter and there was only one large bed in the room #4, the team put an extra bed immediately to arrange with the initial request. They are very customers service oriented and speak fluent English. Best stay in Maputo for leisure and professional trip so far."

"The Room #3: The fact that there is no door with the toilets and the room, make this room not very suitable for two people in terms of privacy while you are at the toilet. It is more fitted for only one person. The Room #4 is exceptional, beautiful bathroom and very large bed, being also on the most quiet street around"

"We received a warm welcome and they carried all our bags up to our room. It’s a very cute homey space with beautiful art and interior decoration. The breakfast/outdoor area is a beautiful green oasis. The breakfast selection was small however perfect - you have all you need. Because there’s not many rooms at the guest house, it’s very calm at the venue. We had the whole pool area and breakfast area to ourselves basically. A real treat! The staff is wonderful, kind and helpful. *We are a lesbian couple and we felt very safe and appreciated."
