"La habitación con balcón no merece la pena,las vistas son a un edificio de al lado..y además tenía un altillo con otra cama que no pudimos usar porque no le pusieron sábanas..La parte de abajo era bastante pequeña y no había dónde dejar equipaje ni colgar nada de ropa. Quisimos quedarnos otra noche y nos queríamos cambiar a la habitación de abajo que era más amplia y a pesar de estar libre porque era temporada baja no nos dejaron.."

Great food in the evening and Sri Lankan curry was amazing. Stunning location. "hot water was lacking and our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay but this wasn’t a problem for us. Local dogs bark at night but this is not the fault of the hotel. We fell in love with this place, quirky, beautiful and quiet"

"A lovely rustic property right on the beach. We only stayed for one night but the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. And the breakfast was the best breakfast I have had in the 8 days we have been here"

"Due to the cyclone that hit Sri Lanka recently, part off the entrance to the beach was in need of repair as was the hotels either side of the property. Which given the circumstances is completely understandable."

"Fantastic location, right on the beach, next to a dive centre, several beachfront restaurants within a short walking distance in either direction. Small cabana style hotel, with vintage/shabby chic interiors. Peaceful terrace with sun loungers steps from the beach and sea. Good breakfast with plenty of choice included. Cafe/bar/restaurant with varied menu of Sri Lankan and international choices (sandwiches, pasta,pizza). Delicious Sri Lankan curry (must be preordered as it takes a while to prepare). Good communication from owners after booking to arrange payment. Lovely staff, always polite, welcoming and helpful. Relaxing, laid back atmosphere. Nilaveli is lovely, not too busy or overdeveloped but with lots of activities (snorkelling,diving, fishing,whale watching) and beautiful palm fringed beach."

"Some of the soft furnishings could be a bit cleaner but appreciate that it’s tricky with sand, water, and open air areas and it wasn’t a big problem to me. Service was sometimes a bit slow but staff were always polite and advised of delays during busy times."

"They offer water downstairs so you can top up your bottles which is great in terms of cutting down plastic but it was never topped up so each time we came to use it it was empty."
