"To be honest, there wasn't much to like. You can't beat being outside in the Yamanshi air and having a view of fields and mountains in the distance, but the place itself wasn't great."
"Better information before booking would have meant we would have been able to avoid visiting. You have to 'rent' towels; the 'bath' was not prepared and was simply covered and left unwashed - we didn't use it. Why should we have to clean the bath after travelling all he way to our stay; not all rooms accept pets (fine - but tell us before we go, because the room that does accept pets is 5000 yen more); no air conditioner in the room... It's a bit Jekyll and Hyde - the shared kitchen is well equipped and then you return to your room which smells of damp tatami and damp linen..."
