El pintoresco Stiftung Kartause Ittingen tiene más de 800 años de antigüedad y ocupa el edificio de un antiguo monasterio de monjes cartujos de la localidad de Warth. Este lugar único cuenta con un jardín con laberinto, una lechería privada y un punto de restauración. El Kartause Ittingen alberga en sus terrenos extensos una lechería, que produce 6 tipos diferentes de queso, yogur, mantequilla y nata. Todos estos productos se pueden degustar en el universo culinario de moda asentado dentro del recinto amurallado. El monasterio además produce su propio vino. Las alojamientos son modernas, pero conservan el espíritu monacal de sencillez. Están equipadas con baño, TV y conexión gratuita a internet por cable. Muchas de ellas además cuentan con balcón con perspectivas al parque privado. El Museo de Arte del cantón de Thurgau y el Museo Ittinger están ubicados en el mismo edificio. Los huéspedes podrán practicar senderismo y footing en los grandes jardines y parques. Por Otra Parte podrán jugar al ajedrez en el jardín.

"Kartause Ittingen is a truly special place. The old monastery site has a cluster of beautiful buildings, lovely grounds and is perched high on the valley side such that there are fantastic views all day long. I walked up the steep hillside vineyards one morning and it was magical. The breakfast and evening meals were healthy, with lots of variety and high quality. The room was minimalistic, with clean lines, gorgeous furnishings and beautiful materials (lots of natural wood). Also loved that they had a book on steps to reduce your environmental footprint in each room. Hats off, Kartause Ittingen!"

"The nature around is very nice, a lot of green and beautiful scents. I am sorry we didn't get to explore all the surroundings as we didn't have time. But the garden is a joy to the eye. The food was delicious and many of the ingredients were locally sourced. Very nice surprise this accomodation!"
